Liam's 1st Christmas

Christmas celebrations started the night before our trip to NJ.  Liam opened his gifts that were under the tree the night of December 20th.  He loved all of his toys but was really only concerned with eating the wrapping paper as he ripped pieces off of each box.  It was nice to celebrate at home but we were excited to leave the next morning for our Christmas trip to New Jersey.

Our trip home was wonderful (minus a few illnesses) and Liam's first Christmas was full of new experiences and new people, including Santa.  Liam met Santa (for the second time) at my parent's house the first night we arrived. Every year my dad plays "Santa" for neighborhood children and friends of the family.  I was so happy to be home the night he went out on his rounds.  Liam was able to have his photo with Santa.  He wasn't too thrilled with the man in the red suit.  As he was eating dinner in the kitchen we started to hear jingle bells.  Sure enough Santa came in the house and as soon as Liam caught site of him he burst into tears.  This was pretty much the reaction the entire visit but lucky for Santa he had more children to visit and had to leave. Maybe next year we'll be a little less frightened and more intrigued with St. Nick.

We spent Christmas Eve with Jeramie's family and Liam was able to see his Great Grandparents and spend time with his Grandma, who made a delicious Christmas Eve dinner for all of us to enjoy.

Christmas Day was a bit hectic.  The original plan of having Christmas Day dinner at my parent's house was changed when my mom woke up with a 24 hour stomach bug.  As sick as she was she still managed to make a full Christmas dinner with turkey, ham and all the trimmings.  We then had to pack it up in boxes to transport to my sisters house for the holiday.
Liam was so excited to play with his cousins Jake & Jesse and dove right into the middle of Christmas present madness.

All in all our trip was, as usual, super busy and the time flew by, but we were able to see a lot of family and friends.  Our New Year's Resolution is to host more visitors from the east coast at our home in Colorado, so for all of you reading this let me know when to reserve your (newly renovated) suite in the basement.

Wishing everyone a Happy 2012!  Stay tuned for Liam's 1st Birthday!!!!
