Easter Trip to NJ

So it's been a while since I last wrote and a lot has gone on since the beginning of April.

Liam went on his first plane ride to New Jersey and was a terrific traveler. We were delayed at the airport for about 2 hours but Liam just decided to take a nap by the gate.  No worries. Take off was smooth as I made sure that he was sucking on his pacifier in order to pop his little ear drums on the way up. He took a bottle half way through and slept most of the way after.  The man sitting next to us was very happy to tell us how well behaved Liam was during the flight, which definitely made me a proud mama at that moment.

Our visit home was busy as always, but fabulous at the same time. Thursday we had a get together with the Finnegans so Liam could meet all of his first, second and third cousins!  It was wonderful seeing all the "babies" that I used to babysit hold Liam. A great indication that when we do get back to NJ we will have a bunch of babysitters ready to help us out.

Friday we took a trip up to my sister's home so Liam could spend time with his Aunt Jenny, Uncle Joe and Cousins Jake & Jesse.  I can already tell that the boys will show Liam the ropes when it comes to being a true tough boy and grow up to be great friends.

Saturday we spent the afternoon at Grandma's house to meet Liam's Great Grandparents and more cousins!  I think he really enjoyed seeing someone his own size, his cousin Logan.  Only 3 months separate the two but because Liam is such a tank, they look almost the same age.

The main event of our visit was Liam's baptism at the Easter Vigil mass Saturday night.  He was the best baby during the mass, considering it was 2 hours long!! He slept in his car seat for most of it until it was time for the baptism.  He smiled as Deacon Tom poured the water over his head.  It was such a beautiful ceremony, I was happy to be able to have our family there for this special moment in his life.

Easter Sunday was another fun filled day.  Starting with breakfast at the world famous (ok well maybe just Food Network reviewed) Jefferson Diner with Grandma & Nick.  Delicious breakfast together.  Then onto an egg hunt at Nanny & Pop Pop's house. Liam's cousins helped him find his eggs that were filled with goodies. His first Easter basket was also filled with treats including a Bob the Builder DVD and a few OshKosh outfits. The Easter bunny was very good to Liam and the day tired him out.  He continued to sleep through the night the whole week we were visiting NJ.

Our last full day, Monday, we went to see Liam's Great Grandma in the nursing home.  She was so happy to meet Liam but the visit was not as long as we'd like because Nan wasn't having the best day.  But still it was great to be able to introduce yet another great grandchild to her.  Then we traveled to Newark to meet Liam's Uncle Kyle.  A quick stop at Dunkin Donuts (yum) and then onto our farewell dinner at Cafe Fiore in Randolph.

All in all, our trip home was wonderful and we can't wait to get back for our next visit. I hope to get back to blogging weekly so check in next week for new updates.
